With its excellence in academics, leadership, research and innovation, Dalhousie University is internationally known as one of North America’s most welcoming institutions of higher learning. Founded in 1818, Dalhousie attracts more than 18,000 students from around the world.
The university wanted to thank and honor historic donors as well as those in the more recent Bold Ambitions campaign. It also sought to build a culture of philanthropy among students – tomorrow’s donors – that highlights the importance of philanthropy to their success. A donor engagement program was needed to increase donations and donor retention in the future.
Using the previous campaign success as a launching point for ongoing cumulative gifts and donor stewardship, BrookGlobal designed an engagement system to tell Dalhousie’s story in a meaningful way, recognize all donation levels, inspire viewers and complement the university’s environment. The strategy included use of a location that is a gathering point and creation of a system that can be easily and economically refreshed.
