Adds seasoned philanthropic strategist to develop and expand services, increase global presence and create consultative partnerships with customers. Brook Recognition, the company that created The Recognition Paradigm Shift® will be renamed BrookGlobal.
Wednesday. August 15, 2018 - Today Brook Recognition, the company that created The Recognition Paradigm Shift® in donor recognition systems, announced they are expanding their service offerings to include sustainable philanthropy. The company will be renamed BrookGlobal to reflect its expanded international presence and broader service offerings.
Brook Recognition’s unique methodology for Donor Recognition Systems has become a proven process for improving donor retention and value through the power of engaging donors and sharing their impact through innovative and inspirational recognition systems. Brook Recognition customers have routinely experienced a 10-20% increase in donations after investing in a recognition system to honor donors.
“Recognition is just one piece of the puzzle when it comes to sustaining growth in philanthropy” commented Shawn Plater, President & CEO.
“Maximizing lifetime donor value requires a full spectrum of strategies to attract, inspire, recognize and retain donors throughout the fundraising lifecycle. We are growing so that we can partner with our customers to design and deliver sustainability methodologies that ensure the certainty of future funding for our clients”
Along with the current team of dedicated professionals, BrookGlobal is adding Steve Winesett in the role of Vice President, Sustainability Counsel. With over 30 years in health care and higher education fundraising, Steve brings a wealth of experience to BrookGlobal. Along with Brook’s senior management team, Steve will contribute to the expansion of BrookGlobal focused on increasing its global presence, opening a US office, and creating consultative partnerships with clients to ensure sustainability of their fundraising programs and professionals.
Steve most recently served as CEO at Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation. Prior to his time there, he held a variety of positions at Lurie Children’s, Millsaps College, Texas Christian University and his alma mater, Mississippi State University.
His career began in building annual giving and donor engagement programs and has encompassed every aspect of institutional advancement. He has developed sustainable philanthropic cultures and successfully engaged board members, volunteers and other critical institutional leaders. He has been a part of campaigns ranging from $80 million to $400 million and brings experience in donor engagement and personal solicitation at all levels, expanding the donor base and growing prospect pipelines, solicitation coaching for faculty and field staff, and creating innovative engagement opportunities for donors.
Steve holds a bachelor’s in Public Accounting from Mississippi State University and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Texas Christian University. He has served as Chair of The Woodmark Group and a Co-Chair of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals CDO Advisory Committee. He was a founding Board member of Roundup River Ranch (Paul Newman’s Serious Fun Camp in Colorado) and enjoys fly fishing and cycling. Steve and his wife, Kim, live in Parker, Colorado and have four children.
“Research tells us that a 10% increase in donor retention can translate to a 200% increase in lifetime donor value, so there is an opportunity to make a tremendous difference in the performance of an organization” noted Steve “I’m honored to be joining a team whose goal is to help our clients realize this kind of result as they work to improve lives in their communities.”
