Driscoll Children’s Hospital embarked on a major expansion project, increasing their facility with the development of the North Pavilion. Initially estimated at $80 million, the project’s budget grew to $100 million as additional floors were added to accommodate more critical services. To fund this expansion, the hospital launched its first-ever capital campaign in its 60-70 year history. The ‘Futures Bright’ campaign officially launched with $40 million already raised for the expansion, with a fundraising goal of $15 million. Thanks to the extreme generosity of the community, they exceeded this goal and raised $16 million. The new donor engagement center became a vital component of recognizing the generosity of contributors and inspiring further support.
The design of the donor engagement center contained two elements to bring everything together.
Donor Recognition
The primary focus was to celebrate major campaign donors alongside vibrant, vertical colored panels that extended upward, creating a dynamic, eye-catching display. This vertical orientation aligned with the campaign’s ‘reach new heights’ theme, symbolized by playful balloon imagery and the silhouettes of children.
Employee Giving Wall
A smaller, horizontal wall space was dedicated to recognizing the hospital’s internal champions, employees who contributed to the campaign. This area featured a similar look and feel, maintaining the campaign’s bright, optimistic branding while emphasizing the hospital’s community focused approach.
Both design elements were purposefully integrated to complement each other, utilizing bright colors and uplifting themes that mirrored the playful spirit of the children served by the hospital.
