A holistic donor engagement system demonstrates community impact and enhances a culture of philanthropy..
Arkansas Children’s Hospital is the state’s only health care system solely dedicated to caring for children, which allows the organization to uniquely shape the landscape of pediatric care in Arkansas. The system includes a 336-bed hospital, the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in the state, a burn center, neonatal intensive care and pediatric intensive care units, a research institute and a nationally-recognized transport service. Arkansas Children’s Hospital also blankets the state with outreach programs, including telemedicine, mobile health and school-based health solutions. A private nonprofit, it is one of the 25 largest children’s hospitals in the United States and has an international reputation for medical breakthroughs and treatments, unique surgical procedures and forward-thinking research.
Despite its reputation for excellence in children’s health care, the institution’s donors seemed unmotivated by the institution’s donor engagement strategy. The existing recognition system proved difficult and expensive to update and confusion existed about the role of integrating a digital approach.
